Palm Takes Aim At RIM

Palm, not to be outdone by Blackberry, has dropped a new Treo on the world, the Treo Pro a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone with email functions, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities.
The Treo Pro will offer a high-resolution color touch screen (ala the iPhone) and a full QWERTY keyboard with a removable battery (up to five hours of talk time). It delivers increased security over past Treo models, easier device management and access to information on corporate networks.
Other features include a one-touch Wi-Fi button for fast connections (802.11b/g), a screen saver that lets users know at a glance, without turning on the device the time, missed calls or waiting voicemails. Dedicated email and calendar buttons also feature one-button access.
The Treo Pro will be available in the United States this fall with an MSRP of $549. Even cooler is that it will be unlocked and unsubsidized to individual carriers.
